Offered here is a very scarce evasion or Bungtown copper halfpenny. A 1791 halfpenny. Obverse has figure facing left legend GEORGE GORDON. Reverse dated 1791 Britania seated legend BRITONS / RULE. Rim edges are sharp indicating little if any real wear. Hard glossy surfaces and great color.
Remember most evasive coins were made to look worn to make them more acceptable in commerce.
