    Kershaw's Clothmakers Arms & Weaver Rochdale Halfpenny 1792
    Kershaw's Rochdale (Lancashire) copper Conder halfpenny token dated 1792. Obverse: The Arms of the Clothworkers' Company with a ram crest: “ROCHDALE HALFPENNY 1792”. Reverse: View of seated weaver working in his loom. Edge inscription is completely readable: “PAYABLE AT THE WAREHOUSE OF IOHN KERSHAW”. John Kershaw appears to have been a mercer and draper with a business in Rochdale, and is also thought to have been concerned with a woollen factory in the town. Excellent collectable condition.
