In 1794 John Horn Tooke was tried for high treason . Tooke and many others including Thomas Paine who penned "The Rights Of Man" were arrested and tried. The British Government saw the men who believed in a broader view of the rights of the people as a threat to the crown .
The surfaces have a mix of copper and brown hues . On the obverse is a bust of John Horn ( Stooke) . The detail is very nice the hair strands and ribbon are easily seen on the obverse . Along the rim is " Tried For High Treason "
Below the bust is the date 1794 . On the reverse is the language around his aquittal .
