    1794 Middlesex Francis Shackelton London, Fine Mould and Store Candles Great Britain Conder/Provincial Token D&H 477 Colonial: Collectible Nice Condition
    Due to the shortage of Regal coinage in the 1790's and the fact that the population of Great Britain had nearly quadrupled, the masses were forces to either create non-regal coinage of George III (1760-1820) or with permission from The Crown, they produced their own copper coinage to be used as change for workers and business customers.
    These Provincial or Conder Tokens were widely produced so based on the image or business depicted on these tokens they have been collected and used both throughout Europe and here in the US.
