    Description

Confederate copy the the .69 caliber, M1842 cartridge box. This box is a close copy of the Atlanta Arsenal equipment sets for use with the smooth-bore .69 caliber M1842 musket. Confederate details include rounded flap, arched stitching for closure tab, single stitch for middle rear sling straps. This box has the implement pouch as did the Federal model, and many of these were issued to sergeants (who had musket tools) most enlisted men were issued the M1839 box without this pouch. The tin is a single Confederate style tin. This item is hand cut, hand dyed and hand sewn as were the originals from patterns once removed from an original box I copied while working as a museum director under the auspices of the U.S. Army Center of Military History. No foreign junk here, all items manufactured in a one man, veteran owned shop. Most items ship next day USPS. No foreign bidders please. "THIS AIN'T NO MUSEUM, THIS STUFF IS FOR SALE!"
