    Description

The first cap pouch used by the U.S. Army was the M1845. Used by Infantry, riflemen, Dragoons, and Mounted Rifles. This was the common cap pouch until the introduction of the M1850. This cap box was still being issued early in the War along with the M1841 Rifleman's Cartridge Box and others as the need for accoutrements was pressing in both the North and the South.  This item is hand cut, hand dyed and hand sewn as were the originals, from patterns taken from an original.
