This Historical Reenacting item is from a smoke-free home and smoke-free environment.  Very well taken care of and from a personal collection of historical re-enacting uniforms and costumes.
This is an excellent reproduction of a mid-19th century rectangular
PAIR
of Musket Cartridge Box TINS, made of tin. In NEW, unused condition.  Vital to use when carrying hand-rolled paper cartridges - to keep them easy to access, safe(r) from moisture and from being knocked around and torn.  A PAIR of replacement tins for your issue Cartridge box - and should fit all standard Springfield U.S. or C.S. Boxes - will not fit into an "Enfield Pattern" English box.
Might show some simple storage wear and minor spots of rust, (which is easily cleaned up with some brasso metal polish if you wish) but comes still wrapped in original plastic wrapping and unused.  Ready to be fit into your cartridge box.
