Unwaxed Square Braid Cotton Wicks
These square braid cotton wicks are untreated and ready for your homemade candles. This is our preferred wick for beeswax candles and can be used for other waxes as well.
In terms of sizing, 5/0 is best for smaller taper candles, while #6 is appropriate for large pillar candles.
Candle making, especially with beeswax, is a bit of an subjective art form, but below are some general candle sizing to wick size guidelines. Depending on the natural wax you're using and how you prefer your candles to burn, you may find your personal sizing tastes are quite different than the suggestions below. Experimentation is the only true way to figure out what will work for you and the wax you've got.
5/0 - for very thin candles
4/0 - small rolled taper candles up to 3/4 inch in diameter
3/0 - rolled taper candles 3/4 - 1 inch in diameter
2/0 - rolled taper candles up to 1 inch in diameter
1/0 - rolled candles up to 2 inches, poured natural wax candles up to 1 inch in diameter
#1 - rolled candles up to 2.5 inches, poured natural wax candles up to 1.5 inch diameter
#2 - rolled candles up to 3 inches, poured natural wax candles up to 2 inch diameter
#3 - poured natural wax candles 1.5-2.5 inch diameter
#4 - poured natural wax candles 2-3 inch diameter
#5 - poured natural wax candles 3-4 inch diameter
#6 - poured natural wax candles 4+ inches in diameter
