Gorgeous vintage 100% sheer silk chiffon Japanese Kimono robe/undergarment 1940s

Beautiful vintage super sheer 100% silk Japanese Kimono robe/undergarment, 1940s. One size. Unlabeled.
This stunning vintage piece is made of delicate "light as air" sheer silk gauzy chiffon. Overall color is cream, splashed with gorgeous colorful florals and a stripe & checkerboard pattern along the borders.
I believe it to be a kimono undergarment.
The long stripe/checkerboard collar piece is hand sewn while the remainder appears to be machine sewn.
The elbow length sleeves are wide and roomy.
The piece is in

vintage condition with
consideration
given to its age and delicate nature of the fabric. However, there is a 2" x 3/4" area on the back side of the right sleeve that exhibits some age related discoloration/yellowing that could possibly be an old rust stain. Also are a couple of other minor 1cm stains of the same nature as the larger, visible below and to the lower right of the larger.
No holes or rips.
