    Similar to but much larger than US Civil war tokens, Conder tokens/18th Century Provincial Tokens were privately minted token coinage struck and used during the latter part of the 18th Century and the early part of the 19th Century in England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland. They filled a  need for small denomination coinage when the government failed,
    private businesses and merchants issued the tokens beginning in 1787 to pay workers and as any coin was saved and collected and now are Highly prized collectors especially in this condition!
