Description
Pre-War Early Militia belt as was found on the Steamboat Arabia which sank in the Missouri River around 1856.Waist size approximately 37 to 41 some smaller adjustment with the addition of more holes and the simple period correct hook. Leather is Quality American leather, struck through, approximately 6/7 oz, and ready to wear without break in time or greasy oils. Hand cut, and hand sewn as were the originals. The buckles are the Arabia buckles (Circa 1825-1835) from South Union Mills and are the most detailed available to the reenactment community. There is not a nicer or more authentic waist belt for military or civilian use on the market today. No foreign junk here, everything made in a one man, Veteran owned and operated shop, most patterns for all my items came from original artifacts when I worked as a museum director under the U.S. Army Center of Military History.
