    Description

    On consignment with us is this pair of
    UNASSEMBLED
    dark red (not a bright scarlet) “private purchase” style (non-issue) wool trousers.  See the second photo with the yellow “X” on the fly panel as this is the closest photo representation of the true shade of red.  We recently finished a pair of trousers (same wool - same details) and these are the trousers in the photos. We used those photos to show what these unassembled trousers will look like upon completion.
    These trousers currently measure in with a
    46” waist
    .
    However
    , WE CAN ALTER to any SMALLER size (46" waist or less) and finish assembly upon sale. We will contact the buyer after the sale to get the three measurements we'll need to finish them. The Buy-It-Now price is for a fully assembled ready-to-wear pair of trousers

    Sorry,
    these trousers are not available for sale in their current state (meaning just cut out and not finished). However, full return / refund privileges are in place in the event there are any fitting issues when the buyer receives them.
    These trousers will be principally machine sewn but will have hand sewn button holes and some assorted hand stitching (
    hand tacking around the pocket openings & rear waistband split, rolled hand felled cuffs plus hand edge felling around the adjustment belt reinforcement gussets (see the 8th photo - top image).
    Featured are side seam pockets, a regular cut right side watch pocket, two rear adjustment belts w/ a two-tine brass buckle, black cotton drill pocket bags, waistband facings & right side fly facing, plus black
    polished
    cotton left side fly facings. Rounding out these trousers are black stipple tin buttons - seven large on the waistband and five smaller in the fly.
    These trousers are correctly cut with a high waist, tapered waistband and a sloping high rise back. They are currently cut long in the length (will accommodate up to a 36” finished inseam). We will of course set the length for the buyer when we get their measurements after the sale.
    HIPS/SEAT SIZE
    : These trousers will fit an individual with up to a
    45" hips/seat
    size.
    How to measure this
    : while wearing jeans measure around the fullest part of the seat/buttocks area. Pull the tape a little snug to get the slack out of the pants. If you measure 45" or less we're good to go! If you measure over 45", please do not order these as they will not fit you comfortably.
    The wool used in these trousers is a light weight wool blend of 85% wool / 15% synthetic fiber. Given the lighter weight of the wool we do
    not
    recommend these trousers for any type of severe wear or service - such as “campaigner” service. However, these would be fine for gliding around the ball room, doing parades, or being used in static living history programs.
    We do need to mention that since we are
    VERY BUSY
    in the shop please give us some time (
    at least five (
    5
    ) weeks
