U.S. Cavalry Cartridge Box

Description

Standard issue U.S. Cavalry carbine cartridge box, Cal .52, with wooden block insert holding 20 cartridges. Cut from pattern taken from an original, hand cut, hand dyed and hand stitched of quality American leather, as were the originals closes with a brass acorn finial. This box is correctly stamped with the E.GAYLORD stamp on the inside lunette flap and inspected by A. D. Laidley on the outer flap. Unlike many cheap copies or foreign imports, this box has roller buckles sewn to the Botton and the shoulder strap keeper on the back of the box. (Check around and be sure of what you are getting.)
