VINTAGE STERLING SILVER SAINT CHRISTOPHER MEDAL Catholic patron jewelry motorist

Large round cut-out St. Christopher medal.
Contrary to popular misunderstanding, the Church never declared that he didn't exist.  She only removed his feast day from the universal liturgical calendar
in 1969 because little is known about him.
Yet he is
still
a saint and martyr and his feast
may
still
be observed by parishes bearing his name and by those with a continuing devotion to him.
This includes anyone named Christopher and, since
he is the patron saint of motorists, those who drive for a living, including truck drivers, chauffeurs, bus drivers, etc.
The front says, "St. Christopher protect us;" the reverse is blank except for "Creed Sterling" in small letters.  No chain.
Measures about 1 3/16" in diameter, not counting ring on top.  Height with ring is about 1 3/8".
Some light wear; see photos.  Medal is in overall very good preowned condition and still useable.
