    Description

As this pin isn't marked, I am assuming it is nickel silver, not silver plated. Nickle silver is a term that was given to a silver looking metal that was really popular in the 1930's, because, even though it wasn't nickel OR silver, it looked a bit like both. It was, of course, much less expensive. This wonderful bar pin (brooch), is from the 1930's, with a lovely Art Deco design. It isn't marked but was purchased in Europe. The pin features Mary with her child, in very stylized clothes - baby Jesus is dressed up, and when presented in these types of clothes, often called the "Infant of Prague". The little bar pin is beautiful, and has no damage - JUST a small bit of bend to the pin, which is a plain clasp pin back. It is one of several that I have for sale. It has wonderful "patina" - the aged look things get over time. It measures 2" long.
